The Spiral Educational Foundation

The History of The Foundation 

The Spiral Educational Foundation is an all volunteer, community based non-profit organization. Launched in 1993, our mission is to provide educational opportunities, resources and information that will create the framework of knowledge for youth, families and communities.

We offer alternatives to learning to those students wavering between attending class and withdrawing from school entirely. We serve as a resource directory for parents, along with teachers and other caring professionals committed to educational excellence for all students.

 

Lectures for School and Community Groups 

Our experienced trainers provide help to students in alternative learning environments and students who have dropped out of the classroom. Targeted opportunities include free GED, SAT preparation, computer classes and scholarship assistance.

Professional Conferences-Workshops-Seminars

The Spiral Educational Foundation sponsors one to three-day professional seminars and workshops on a variety of educational subjects. Recent courses have included Student Behavior Tools, Gang Association and Recognition, a series of focal group discussions on Teen Abstinence, Computer Workshops and Community Awareness Training.

• Family Re-unification Initiative - Goal: Strengthen the family through awareness, intense training, active church participation and collaboration of existing community resources.

• Annual Scholarship Awards - Goal: Enhance educational opportunities for disadvantaged students.

• Charity Fund-raising - Goal: Host community-wide special events to raise funds for scholarships and program services. An all time favorite is the Annual Holiday Wreaths. These one of a kind and hand made wreaths are made by volunteer community crafters who share their talent and resources.  The proceeds from their efforts benefit the scholarship program. 

Publications

Our newsletter and website provide up-to-date information on the activities of the Spiral Educational Foundation.  Our-year-end annual report is published at the closed of the fiscal year on December 31st.
